The Teegarden Audio MAGIC TONE Master Program Equalizer is a Mastering-Level Baxandall Styled 2 Channel Tone Processor with Low and High bands of ±5 dB tone control.

We first started building custom BAX-style EQs for mastering engineers in Nashville many years ago. Now it’s time to share our research and design expertise with the world.

There are numerous Baxandall type program EQs in the market, but our goal was to simplify the process for truly useful tone management on stereo or mono sources, maintaining absolute phase coherency between channels when the device is engaged. Many professional BAX EQs claim phase coherency, but we’ve bench-tested and listened to them in our own studio, with disappointing, lackluster results.

Mastering and live mix engineers have repeatedly told us that they love having a Broadband Low/High Frequency Tone Control as the final step on a Stereo Mix, but were constantly bothered by the smear and unwanted coloration left on the stereo image, sometimes causing it to fold into itself and be “less stereo.”

We chose to tackle stereo imaging issues through -

  • Our own unique analog circuitry

  • Careful selection of the broadband shelving center frequencies

  • Impedance matching, and

  • Precision trimming of the gain structure of each Tone Control Band.

With our history of using top-quality components that have been double-blind A/B tested by some of the best ears in the industry, we feel the MAGIC TONE brings a new level of precision and confidence to the device you need for the “icing on the cake” of your mix.

We have found that the MAGIC TONE is perfect for individual sources, too. Often, all that’s needed to help an instrument or vocal stand out and cut through a mix without getting louder.

The MAGIC TONE is a +4 dBu line-level operating device, with up to +26 dB of headroom before clipping for those of you who like to drive your analog gear to the highest levels.

There are three output modes on the MAGIC TONE MT210B:

1- BYP (True Bypass)

2- IN (Single-Ended Transformer-less Output)

3- XFMR (Nickel-Based 600:600 Transformer Output)

With simple industry-standard XLR inputs and outputs and well-laid-out controls in a 1U rack mount enclosure, we think you will find the MAGIC TONE to be the perfect addition to your analog setup.

  • FEATURES

    Precision Trimmed Stepped Gain
Each high-quality silver contact switch for frequency-band gain is hand-trimmed with precision trimmers to meet exact values and channel match on a stereo source.

Audiophile Level Analog Circuitry and Components
With a custom-designed, unique circuit and matched part values, you can rest assured that 1 dB equals 1 dB. All components were chosen not just for their specifications and performance, but more implicitly, their sound.

For over a decade, Teegarden Audio has been known for superior sound. If it doesn’t meet and beat our listening test standards, we don’t release.

    Rugged Construction
All our enclosures are made in the USA with the highest-quality, higher-gauge metals to withstand the rigors of the road and last for years in your studio.

Reduced Audio Clutter and Feature Creep
Many pro audio manufacturers try to dazzle you with features. While this may seem appealing and of great value, it often puts a dent in your audio quality. Every component in the audio path takes its toll on the sound. There is no way around this other than to include only what is needed to achieve a superior sonic result and to ensure every component meets high standards.

Switchable Transformer-less and Transformer Coupled Outputs
You can effortlessly switch between a single-ended transformer-less output, desired for its clarity and high fidelity, and high-quality Nickel 600:600 Line Transformers for a warmer, more nuanced sound.

    True Bypass
Completely takes the electronics of the Magic Tone out of the signal chain.
